Trey Gowdy has requested permission from the White House to grant him the necessary conditions so that he would be able to do his job well. However, that permission has been denied for 5 years.
The biggest obstacle that his job as congressional investigator presents is security clearance. And Trey Gowdy is no stranger to the issue of security clearance since he has found himself in multiple situations when he had to investigate people who held titles like “Secretary of State” and “Special Aide to the President” or even “President”.
The good old line that “It’s a matter of national security” has served as the best excuse for Hillary Clinton and her people to keep Gowdy from doing his work. This is always a good answer when you don’t have any actual reason.
Nevertheless, President Donald Trump has now removed this restriction, and Trey Gowdy has been given the highest level of security clearance possible, granted with an executive order from the President himself.
This has opened the way for Gowdy to look into anything he wants and attend any meeting he feels that needs to be observed even presidential Intel briefings.
Interestingly enough, the first task that Gowdy made with this unlimited ability to investigate was that he re-opened the Benghazi case.
Reportedly, back in the day, there was a six-hour gap that Hillary Clinton never clarified because her excuse was that she was in meetings with the president and joint chiefs that were highly classified.
However, Gowdy will look more thoroughly into those meetings and determine the reason why four men lost their lives for that.
His next, task reportedly would be to investigate the extent to which Barack Obama went when he supplied the Muslim Brotherhood with weapons after they took control over Egypt by force.
