President Donald Trump’s plans for the border wall are continually ridiculed by the mainstream media who are claiming that people don’t need it.
But in reality, things are not that simple and facts show the opposite of this.
The Southern border is practically a war zone, filled with violent drug cartel members and smugglers who keep creeping into the United States. They bring in drugs, violence and human trafficking and mock our laws and border regulation for not having the authority to stop them.
A new incident just points out the need for a more secure barrier. According to a report from The Daily Wire:
“Late last week, Mexican law enforcement officials seized 100 pounds of the synthetic opioid fentanyl, one of the most lethal drugs in existence, in a vehicle approximately 30 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico border.
Mexican police say they intercepted the shipment — which also contained 14 pounds of meth, 88 pounds of cocaine and 18.5 pounds of heroin — close to the city of Ensenada in Baja California last Thursday, the Associated Press reported. Ensenada is just 30 miles south of the Mexican border city of Tijuana, the most likely destination for the drugs seized by Mexican authorities…”
The report continues to say that according to two estimations, the amount of the drug that the Mexican officials confiscated is enough to kill approximately from 17.5 to 19.1 million people. One of the calculations was made by New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, who said that 100 pounds of fentanyl is enough to “kill the entire populations of New Jersey and New York City combined [approximately 17.5 million].”
This was no ordinary, recreational drug, but a real deadly poison. Fentanyl is a substance which is used to “enhance” the effect of other drugs like heroin, but the consequences can be extremely fatal. Allegedly, less than a milligram of it is enough to kill a person, which poses the question: why were these people carrying so much of it towards our border?
Maybe they were planning to sell it to other drug dealers or something completely else. There is even a possibility that they might have planned to sell the fentanyl as another drug in order to boast our death toll.
Luckily, they were caught this time before they managed to get away with it. But what about other times, and other cases that perhaps the police never found out about?
Cases like these are precisely the reason why the U.S. needs a stronger border protection.
